Yes You Can - Get Fit Now!

There is a lot more to being fit than going to the gym. To achieve your fitness goals takes knowledge, patience, and persistence. The following tips will help you on your fitness quest.

Don't focus exclusively on crunches to work out your abdominal muscles. It's been proven that crunches don't burn much fat; one study even resulted with only one pound burned after 250,000 total crunches! Simply doing only crunches means that you aren't getting as much of a workout as you need. Work out your abdominals in other ways, as well.

Reduce injury while walking properly. Try walking upright and make sure that you draw back your shoulders. Hold your forearms perpendicular to your upper arms while swinging them. Swing each arm as the opposite leg comes forward. Every time you take a step, let your heel touch the ground and then roll forward onto the rest of your foot.

Wall sits are fast and simple ways on which you can build leg strength. Before you begin, make sure to find a wall that is wide enough to accommodate the width of your body. Next, face away from the wall at about an 18 inch distance. Bend your knees, and lean back until your entire back is touching the wall. After that, bend your knees some more. Stop once your thighs are at a 180 degree angle to the ground. Maintain the squatting position until you can no longer maintain it.

Crunches alone will not give you washboard abs. Although abdominal exercises, such as crunches, help to strength the ab muscles, they do not burn the fat on your stomach. To get yourself a set of washboard abs, you must start eating better while doing resistance and cardio training.

Those that are serious about fitness will take advantage of every opportunity to be more physically active. With this additional fitness knowledge, you can now fine-tune your own routine or create a healthy fitness routine from scratch to help you achieve your fitness goals.
